NBI establishes 'Task Force Cash Cow' to probe PHISGOC

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Melvin Matibag on Tuesday said they have established “Task Force Cash Cow” to investigate alleged anomalies in the country’s hosting of the Southeast Asian Games in 2019.

In an ambush interview, Matibag said the task force will be composed of the Office of the Director, Public Corruption Division, Special Action Unit, and field officers.

“We will be writing COA, SEC, and BIR to check on the documentation,” he said.

Matibag said that P6.7 billion government funds went to the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC).

He said that subpoenas have also been issued to seven individuals.

Matibag said some will appear on Monday and Wednesday.
