DepEd Davao apologizes over students' behavior during Marcos visit

The Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Davao on Wednesday issued an apology over the “inappropriate behavior” of several students during the visit of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

According to the Schools Division, the four learners involved are undergoing appropriate disciplinary measures, guidance and counseling, and values formation interventions on responsible behavior, digital citizenship, and respect for others.

Though the Schools Division did not specify the incident it is referring to, videos of students heckling the President went viral on social media earlier this week.

“We deeply regret the incident and assure the public that such conduct is not tolerated and does not reflect the values of respect, discipline, and responsibility that our schools uphold,” it said.

Meanwhile, it said that it remains committed to fostering a safe and respectful learning environment.

“We will continue to work closely with parents and the community to reinforce positive behavior and uphold the highest standards of student conduct. —RF, GMA News
