OCD: Over 80,000 affected by Luis, Maymay, Habagat
More than 80,000 people have been affected by the combined effects of Tropical Cyclones Luis and Maymay and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) said Thursday.
In its report as of 6 a.m., the OCD said a total of 80,633 individuals or 23,946 families have been affected in the following regions:
- Ilocos Region
- Cagayan Valley
- Central Luzon
- Bicol
- Zamboanga Peninsula
- Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM)
- Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR)
A total of 6,929 individuals or 2,215 families were staying in 39 evacuation centers.
The OCD has not recorded any deaths, injuries, or missing persons in connection with the weather disturbances as of the latest report.
A total of 12 houses were reported damaged, all of which sustained partial damage.
The OCD also reported 83 flooded areas in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Zamboanga Peninsula, and BARMM.
Meanwhile, the government has provided P1.38 million worth of assistance to affected residents. —VAL, GMA News
