Prosecution to present 8 witnesses in Marcoleta bail hearing
The prosecution will present eight witnesses in the bail hearing of Senator Rodante Marcoleta and others, which is expected to begin on September 3, Thursday.
The Sandiganbayan Third Division will give the prosecution nine trial days for its presentation.
Sandiganbayan Third Division chairperson and Associate Justice Karl Miranda said the prosecution has to prove there is strong evidence of guilt.
To recall, Marcoleta, former congressman Michael Defensor, and businessmen Joseph Varias Espiritu and Aristotle Baluyut Viray are charged with plunder and violation of Presidential Decree 46 over undeclared donations that he received for his 2025 senatorial bid.
All accused in the case filed motions for bail.
