Residents living near Ambayaoan River urged to evacuate by Tayug, Pangasinan government
The local government of Tayug in Pangasinan has advised residents near the Ambayaoan River to temporarily evacuate as the water level continues to rise.
The government posted that as of 11 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2026, the water level of the Ambayaoan River continues to rise, causing severe pressure and continued damage to the dike in Purok 7, Barangay Legaspi.
"Due to the large volume of water flowing and the current condition of the levee, there is a possibility of the situation worsening," it said.
"As such, residents near the river and in affected areas are strongly encouraged to temporarily evacuate and follow the directives of the authorities," it added.
The Tayug government also posted that residents should not wait for the situation to worsen, they should prioritize the safety, and to be prepared to evacuate immediately if necessary.
The government also assured that volunteers and concerned agencies will continue to monitor and take measures to prevent the situation from worsening. — BAP, GMA News
