The red alert status over the Mindanao grid was lifted as of Thursday evening, September 10, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said.
“As of 6 p.m., red alert has been lifted by NGCP for the Mindanao grid,” the advisory read.
The grid currently has an available capacity of 2,641 megawatts (MW) against a peak demand of 2,546 MW.
The red alert was in effect from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., while a yellow alert was issued from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
A red alert status is issued when available power supply is insufficient to meet consumer demand and the transmission grid’s regulating requirements. — VBL, GMA News
