11-year old boy dies after saving 2 young cousins from drowning in Laoag

An 11-year old boy died after saving his two young cousins from drowning in the sea in Ilocos Norte.

In a GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon report on Tuesday, the incident happened in Barangay 33-A La Paz in Laoag City.

According to the victim's father, his son went to the shore near the sea to help pull fishing nets.

But while waiting for the fishing boats to arrive, the victim noticed that two of his cousins who were swimming in the sea were drowning.

The victim rushed into the water to bring the two children to safety. Unfortunately, he drowned in the process.

He was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival. His cousins are currently recuperating from their ordeal. —RF, GMA News
