Aber Canlas dies at 77


ANGELES CITY, Philippines - Former assemblyman and deputy minister of Public Works and Highways Aber Canlas died at noon last Friday at the Marikina Valley Medical City at the age of 77, the Sun.Star Pampanga reported Sunday. A native of Floridablanca, Canlas was an alumnus of the Pampanga High School class 1955. Canlas was known as the "action man" of the Marcos administration because he was able to complete ahead of schedule major infrastructure projects such as the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), Folk Arts Theater, Manila International Airport (MIA), LRT 1, Lung Center, Kidney Center, Heart Center, among others.
