SAN FERNANDO CITY, Philippines - A task force has been created to investigate an alleged shabu laboratory discovered in nearby Naguilian town in La Union early this month. The unit would be led by a female cop. It was named Task Force Bimmotobot. Bimmotobot is the name of the remote village where the shabu lab was found. Police Supt. Jane Andres Aunzo, the regional director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), will head the unit. As estimated by the PNP Crime Laboratory, the seized chemicals can produce P1-trillion worth of high-grade methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu. An earlier TV report said that authorities confiscated about a hundred drums of chemicals from the place. The raid was conducted after a year-long surveillance, the same report said. Arrested during an earlier operation were the alleged caretaker Dante Tomas Palaganas and Andy Tangalim, a helper. The 11-hectare land where the clandestine laboratory is located was allegedly being rented by a certain George Cordero. - GMANews.TV
