MANILA, Philippines - The four witnesses who were instrumental in the arrest of the suspects behind the RCBC robbery-massacre in Cabuyao, Laguna, three months ago on Monday received P100,000 as a reward for their assistance. Senior Insp. Pamela Helaga, chief of the Calabarzon police information office, said the reward came from Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr. In a ceremony in Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba, Laguna, Revilla handed the cash reward to Calabarzon Regional Police Director Chief Supt. Ricardo Padilla, who accepted it in behalf of the informants. “The Calabarzon police convened in the giving of the said amount to the witnesses who positively identified the suspects in the said robbery incident,” Helaga said in a statement. Helaga revealed that the information revealed by the four witnesses to the police became vital in the identification and subsequent arrests of most of the perpetrators, including a former soldier and an RCBC bank security guard. With the arrest of the suspects and the subsequent filing of the case in court, Helaga said they consider the May 16 RCBC robbery-massacre as a solved crime. - GMANews.TV
