Report: Drug addict kills, eats girl's heart in La Union

MANILA, Philippines — Police in La Union province arrested a 29-year-old man for killing a 14-year-old girl and eating her organs, a radio report said on Tuesday. Radio dzBB's Tuesday Niu quoted police as saying 29-year-old Rommel Jandoc was suspected to be high on drugs when he killed Catherine Madriaga and ate her organs. Sketchy reports reaching Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame said Madriaga and Jandoc are both from Pugo village in Bauang town of La Union province. The victim's aunt Gina de Guzman, 44, said she was surprised to hear children shrieking that someone had been stabbed in their neighborhood. When she and some neighbors went to investigate, they saw Jandoc with his hands bloodied, while eating the heart and liver of the victim. The victim's chest was crushed, the report said. Appalled by what they saw, the neighbors sought assistance from police, who arrested Jandoc. Madriaga's body was brought to the morgue of the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center. - GMANews.TV
