Jeep driver shot dead, bystanders hurt in Laguna shooting incident

MANILA, Philippines - Police in Laguna province are now looking for a motorcycle-riding man who shot dead a passenger jeep driver in Laguna province, a radio report said Thursday. Radio dzRH reported that a bystander was shot and wounded after being hit by a stray bullet during the incident in San Pablo City in Laguna. The victim, initially identified as jeep driver Rannie Cortez, 41, was waiting for passengers when the suspect approached him from behind and fired several times. Cortez was killed almost instantly, even as bystander Roseller Binenzuela, 44, was wounded in the face and arm after being hit by a stray bullet.
