Bicol mayor fires handgun at illegal jeep terminal

MANILA, Philippines - Irked over transport operators for maintaining an illegal terminal, a town mayor in Bicol fired his handgun and scared off jeep and tricycle drivers there early Wednesday. Radio dzBB reported early Thursday that Donsol town mayor Jerome Alcantara got mad after seeing jeep and tricycle drivers blatantly violating an ordinance against illegal terminals. Alcantara said he chanced upon the terminal before 6 a.m. in Pozo village. Two private vehicles had bullet holes as a result of the incident, the report said. - GMANews.TV
