Magnitude-5.6 quake hits GenSan area - USGS

MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude-5.6 quake was recorded in the area near General Santos City in Mindanao late Thursday afternoon, but no casualty or damage was initially reported. The United States Geological Service (USGS) said the quake was recorded at 5:21 p.m., and traced the epicenter to 75 km east-southeast of General Santos City. It said the epicenter was also some 125 km south-southeast of Davao, 1,095 km south-southeast of Manila; or 2,505 km east-northeast of Jakarta in Indonesia. - GMANews.TV
