MANILA, Philippines — Tropical depression "Dante" remained stationary over Sorsogon province in Bicol Saturday morning, keeping nine areas in Bicol, Southern Luzon and Eastern Visayas under Storm Signal No. 1. Meanwhile, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said a new low-pressure area was sighted at 200 kilometers northwest of Puerto Princesa City. In its 11 a.m. advisory, Pagasa said "Dante" was over Sorsogon or 70 km east-southeast of Legazpi City as of 10 a.m. "Dante" packed maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and was "almost stationary," Pagasa said. Pagasa said "Dante" is expected to be 70 km east-southeast of Legazpi City Sunday morning, and 50 km south-southeast of Virac, Catanduanes Monday morning. By Tuesday morning it is expected to be 40 km southeast of Virac, Catanduanes. Still under Storm Signal No. 1 are Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Masbate, Burias Island, southern Quezon, and Northern Samar. Pagasa warned residents living in low-lying and mountainous areas under Signal No. 1 against flash floods and landslides. - GMANews.TV
