MANILA, Philippines - Four fishermen were killed while two others were injured after a tornado wrecked their fishing boat in Quezon province before dawn Wednesday, a radio report said. Radio dzXL reported that search-and-rescue operations are ongoing for at least nine other fishermen who were on the vessel when the tornado struck. Coast Guard officials initially identified the fatalities as Joven Rajas, Boyet Rillas, Ryan Bragada, and Roberto Lonazan. Lonazan was reportedly the boat’s skipper. The incident occurred at about 1 a.m., while the fishing boat Annabel was taking shelter off Perez town, a fifth-class municipality with a population of 11,022 people. Initial investigation showed the boat, which had 15 passengers on board, sought shelter in the area when the tornado hit it. - GMANews.TV
