2 suspected MILF bombers arrested
Government forces have arrested two members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) who were allegedly involved in some bombing attacks in Central Mindanao, including a cathedral in Cotabato City last July, a military official said on Thursday. Lt. Col. Jonathan Ponce, spokesman of the Armyâs 6th Infantry Division, said suspects Badrudin Dalungan and Benjamin Esmail Sato were arrested in two separate operations on Wednesday afternoon. Dalungan was apprehended about 4 p.m. Wednesday by combined elements of the police and military at a checkpoint in Cotabato city. Satol, meanwhile, was arrested about 4 p.m. at a checkpoint in Barangay Makir Datu village in Datu Odin Sinsuat town in Maguindanao province. He said the two were members of the MILF Special Operations Group who were involed in bombing of Cotabato city Cathedral last July 5 that killed six people and injured 55 others. - Aie Balagtas See, GMANews.TV
