At least two people were killed in a fire that razed four houses in Dipolog City in Zamboanga del Norte province over the weekend. Radio dzXL on Monday cited belated Bureau of Fire Protection reports that the fire occurred at midnight Friday at Biasong village in Dipolog City. The 13-year-old son of former provincial board member Prime Abarquez III and his nanny were killed in the incident after they were trapped in their room. The elder Abarquez was hospitalized since his legs were broken when he tried to jump from the second floor of the house. Initial investigation by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) showed the fire started at the kitchen of Abarquez's house. Arson investigators suspect an electrical short circuit caused the fire. - RJAB Jr/KBK, GMANews.TV
