3 suspected carjackers killed in Cavite shootout
Three suspected carjackers were killed in a shootout with law enforcers in Cavite early morning Wednesday, a police report said. According to Cavite provincial policeâs Tactical Operations Center, the incident happened at 12:10 a.m. during an intensified anti-carnapping operation near the Technological University of the Philippines campus in Dasmariñas City. At the time, the suspects on board a gray Toyota Vios and two motorcycles ignored a police checkpoint, prompting law enforcers to give chase. The report said the suspects fired at the pursuing lawmen, triggering a firefight which resulted in the killing of two suspects in the car. Another suspect, who was on one of the motorcycles, was declared dead on arrival after he was rushed to the nearest hospital. The provinceâs Scene of the Crime Operatives has yet to identify the suspects who were killed. Meanwhile, an unidentified rider on the Toyota Vios and the driver of the second motorcycle were able to escape from the incident. Dasmariñas police recovered three .45-caliber pistols at the crime scene, as well as several items in the car including:
