A magnitude-4.4 quake rocked Cagayan in northern Luzon Sunday night but there was no initial report of damage or casualty.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake was tectonic in origin and was recorded at 10:37 p.m.
In its bulletin, it said the quake’s epicenter was traced to 44 km southwest of Calayan, Cagayan.
However, Phivolcs did not immediately cite specific areas where the quake was felt.
No damage or aftershock was expected from the quake, Phivolcs said. Just last week, a magnitude-6.9 quake shook the Visayas, killing over 40 people. Officials also pegged the number of missing people at 63. — RSJ, GMA News
