A tricycle driver was killed while two of his four passengers were injured after a Manila-bound train hit their tricycle in Laguna province early Thursday.  Cabuyao, Laguna police head Superintendent Arnel Gongona said the incident occurred shortly before 6 a.m. while the tricycle was heading for the town proper. "Paglampas sa riles, pababa na, dumating ang tren. Nahagip ang hulihang gulong ng tricycle at tumalsik ang tricycle," Gongona said in an interview on dzBB radio. He said the driver, who was not immediately identified, was killed on the spot. Two of the four passengers managed to jump from the sidecar before the train hit it. Of the two injured passengers, one was brought to a nearby hospital after sustaining head injuries while another was brought to a nearby police station after suffering minor injuries. "Tuloy ang tren, kino-contact namin ang main office ng PNR para ma-turn over ang driver (The train did not stop. We are contacting the Philippine National Railways to ask it to turn over the driver of the train to us)," Gongona said. — LBG, GMA News
