4 killed in Cainta fire, NDRRMC says

At least four people were killed while six were hurt in a fire that hit a subdivision in Cainta town in Rizal province Tuesday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Wednesday. In its 7 a.m. report, the NDRRMC said the incident occurred at 4:17 a.m. Tuesday at 542 Champaca Street in Greenland Subdivision in Phase 4, Barangay San Juan. Killed in the incident were:

- Gary Nepomucino, 46 - Juliet Nepomucino, 62 - Francine Nepomucino, 4 - Butchay Nepomucino, 2
Injured were Mamerta Nepomucino, 84; and Ligaya Nepomucino, 58. The NDRRMC said the fire, which destroyed a bungalow-type house, was declared out at 4:55 a.m., even as an investigation on the cause of the fire is still ongoing. Arson investigators initially estimated the damage to property at P800,000. — LBG, GMA News
