Radio reporter shot dead in Cotabato
The police are now searching for the motorcycle-riding men who shot dead Rommel "Jojo" Palma, a driver-reporter of Bombo Radyo in South Cotabato province, before dawn on Monday. According to a report of radio dzBB's Benjie Liwanag Jr., the police theorized that the killing could have been out of a personal grudge than with Palma's job as a media worker. The initial investigation showed that Palma had just dropped off Bombo Radyo anchor Rey Legario in front of the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital, when shots were heard at around 4:00 a.m. on Monday. Bombo Radyo said Palma died of gunshot wounds at about 5:00 a.m. at the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital, an hour after he was shot. Bombo Radyo said Palma, 31, who had been working at Bombo Radyo for five years, had two gunshot wounds in the neck. Another bullet hit the spinal column and the back, the report added. - VVP, GMA News
