Suspect in ambush on Laguna board member dies

 

Police said Eugene Bacoto, who was wounded when he and his companions' supposed victim returned fire, died Friday morning, radio dzBB's Roland Bola reported.

 

Bacoto was part of a group that ambushed San Pablo Board Member Reynaldo Paras and his driver Giovanni Dumaraos in San Pablo Wednesday night.

 

Paras and Dumaraos returned fire but both eventually died from their wounds as well, the report said.

 

Investigators are still looking into the motive behind the ambush.

 

Meanwhile, police are now readying charges of double murder against at least two more suspects in the ambush, identified only as one Ricky Valdez and a certain Buknoy. — RSJ, GMA News
