Bayan Muna says Northern Samar office attacked

Progressive party-list group Bayan Muna reported Thursday a supposed attack on its Northern Samar office by two unidentified armed men.

 

In a statement, the group said motorcycle-riding suspects shot the glass window of its office in Barangay Cawayan in Catarman at around 10:25 p.m. Wednesday.

 

No one was hurt after in the shooting incident, although four people were still inside the office when the supposed strafing happened, it added.

 

Bayan Muna party-list Rep. Neri Colmenares condemned the incident, which he said was a clear case of “harassment.”

 

“It is again escalating! President Benigno Aquino has failed to dismantle the infrastructure of impunity that has plagued the country for years,” the lawmakers aid.

 

“It seems that there is a growing number of harassment and attacks against the progressive movement and the Aquino administration is doing nothing to stop it,” he added. — Andreo Calonzo/RSJ, GMA News
