Phivolcs: Magnitude-5.3 quake jolts Zambales

A magnitude-5.3 quake jolted the Zambales area before dawn Sunday, even as there was no initial report of damage or casualty. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake was recorded at 4:12 a.m., and was tectonic in origin. In its initial bulletin, Phivolcs said the quake's epicenter was traced to 85 km southwest of Iba town in Zambales.
