2 killed, 1 missing as river in Kalinga sweeps family away

Two people were killed and another went missing as the Tanudan River in Kalinga province swept away a family that was trying to cross the fast-flowing river.
 
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Monday the incident occurred at 1 p.m. Saturday at in Tanudan town. 
 
The bodies of Alejandro Tabbang Sr., 50, and son Alejandro Jr., 12, were retrieved along the river at Sitio Tomiangan in Barangay Dupag in Tabuk City.
 
Still missing was Evangeline Tabbang, 52.
 
The NDRRMC said search operations are still ongoing for missing Tabbang. The bodies of the fatalities were brought to Tampco Funeraria. — DVM, GMA News
