A village chairman and at least three others were wounded after armed men strafed his house in Camarines Sur province in Bicol Thursday.
Police are now looking into the motive of the incident at Barangay San Pablo in Del Gallego town in Camarines Sur, radio dzBB reported early Friday.
Wounded in the incident were barangay chairman Angel Mendoza, his wife Helen, niece Shirley, and her husband, the report said.
Initial investigation showed that shortly before the shooting, unidentified armed men were heard shouting outside Mendoza's house, challenging him to come out.
When the barangay chairman did not come out, the men reportedly opened fire on the house before fleeing.
Among the possible motives police are looking into include the coming May elections and a grudge. — ELR, GMA News
