Hataman leads ARMM gubernatorial race

Mujiv Hataman of the ruling Liberal Party is leading the gubernatorial race in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

Based on partial unofficial results as of 9:30 a.m. Tuesday representing 67.04 percent of election returns, Hataman has 177,596 votes.

He was way ahead of his rivals, former Sultan Kudarat Rep. Pax Mangudadatu (76,670) and former ARMM Gov. Nur Misuari (40,679).

Hataman, former Anak Minandao party-list representative, was named officer-in-charge of ARMM by President Benigno Aquino III in 2011.

Hataman's running mate, Haroun Al-rashid Lucman Jr., was also leading the vice gubernatorial race with 192,728 votes. Lucman's closest rival, former Lanao del Sur Governor Bashier Manalao, could only muster 21,883 votes.

Meanwhile, seven of the eight candidates for ARMM assemblyman leading the polls also belong to the Liberal Party.

They are Majul Gandamra, Yasser Balindong, Roonie Sinsuat, Khadefeh Mangudadatu, Nedra Burahan, Rudjia Anni, Sulay Halipa.

The only non-Liberal Party candidate who is leading for an assemblyman position in the lone regional district of Basilan is Ronie Hantian, an independent candidate.
