Lacson's son concedes to Jolo Revilla in Cavite vice gov post

Jay Lacson, son of Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, has conceded to Jolo Revilla, son of Sen. Ramon Bong Revilla Jr., in the Cavite vice-gubernatorial race.

In a statement posted on Jay Lacson’s Facebook page Tuesday midnight, he said: "Mga kababayan, maraming maraming salamat sa inyong suporta sa aking pangangandidato bilang Bise Gobernador. Patapos na po ang bilangan ng ating mga boto... Asahan po ninyo na kahit hindi ko napagtagumpayan ang halalang ito, hindi magbabago ang aking pananaw na tulungan ang aking bayang pinagmulan at magpatuloy sa pagbibigay ng serbisyong disente sa mga Kabitenyo.”

Since partial and unofficial results were publicized, Revilla has maintained a wide margin against Lacson and independent candidate Recto Cantimbuhan, the incumbent Cavite vice-governor.

As of 1:46 p.m. Wednesday, GMA’s Eleksyon 2013 partial unofficial tally showed that Revilla was ahead with 394,147 votes, with Lacson and Cantimbuhan behind with 231,105 and 97,166 votes, respectively.

Currently, Revilla is the president of the Association of Baranggay Captains in the Province of Cavite, a post equal to a Sangguniang Panglalawigan membership, while Lacson has not held any public post before his candidacy. — Rouchelle Dinglasan/KBK, GMA News
