3 killed as owner-type jeep, SUV collide in Quezon province
Three people, one of them an infant, were killed after an owner-type jeep they were riding figured in a head-on collision with a sport-utility vehicle in Quezon province before dawn Sunday.
The accident occurred at an accident-prone area of QuirinoHighway in Barangay San Francisco in Tagkawayan town, radio dzBB's correspondent Peewee Bacuño reported.
Two others aboard the owner-type jeep, including a woman and a 10-year-old child, were injured.
Police initially identified the fatalities as jeep driver Mervin Villanueva, a baby, and Vicente Orolfo.
Initial investigation showed the victims were on their way to Albay province in Bicol for a vacation when they figured in the head-on collision with a Fortuner-type SUV.
None of the passengers of the SUV were hurt, the report said.
The owner-type jeep was wrecked following the collision, it added.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident, which occurred at 2 a.m. in an area residents described as accident-prone. — ELR, GMA News
