Government and Moro National Liberation Front exchanged gunfire anew early Wednesday in a village of Zamboanga City, on the third day of a standoff there.
The latest gunfire occurred past 8 a.m. at Barangay Sta. Catalina, according to an initial report by radio dzBB's Benjie Liwanag Jr.
No one was initially reported killed or wounded in the gunfire.
Media representatives were kept away from the site.
Since early Tuesday, sporadic gunfire had been heard in some villages where the MNLF had holed up.
Security had been tightened in Zamboanga City even as the city government asked businesspersons in areas not affected by the clashes to open their establishments. — LBG, GMA News
