NDRRMC: Power in quake-hit Bohol nearly fully restored
Efforts to restore power to parts of quake-ravaged Bohol moved closer to completion Sunday evening, with 18 of 26 towns having their power fully restored, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said.
In its 6 p.m. update, the NDRRMC said work is 87.88 to 97.01 percent complete in the eight towns still without power in Bohol, the province hit hardest by a magnitude-7.2 quake that devastated Central Visayas last Oct. 15.
Still undergoing power restoration are:
- Antequera, 90.48 percent complete
- Calape, 87.88 percent complete
- Catigbian, 95.24 percent complete
- Cortes, 92.86 percent complete
- Inabanga, 96 percent complete
- Loon, 97.01 percent complete
- San Isidro, 91.67 percent complete
- Tubigon, 34 percent complete.
Loon was one of the areas isolated in the first few days after the quake. Maribojoc, another area hit hard by the quake, has power fully restored.
The death toll remained at 215, with 760 injured and eight missing.
At least 664,369 families or 3,218,697 people were affected in 1,527 villages in 60 towns and six cities in six provinces.
Of these, 19,310 families or 99,633 people are staying in 303 evacuation centers. — BM, GMA News
