Power has been restored in four more towns in Bohol province, two weeks after a magnitude-7.2 earthquake devastated Central Visayas, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Wednesday evening.

In its 6 p.m. update, the NDRRMC said this left four more areas in the province where power restoration efforts are still ongoing.

However, power outages are still being experienced in some villages in Antequera, Calape, Catigbian and Loon.

Restoration of power is 90.48 percent complete in Antequera, 87.88 percent in Calape, 95.24 percent in Catigbian, and 97.01 percent in Loon.

Meanwhile, the NDRRMC said a ground subsidence, or sinkhole, with a "very high landslide susceptibility rating" was reported by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau.

It said the sinkhole was at Purok 7B in Barangay Poblacion 1 in Tagbilaran City. Residents in the area have been advised to leave the area.

The NDRRMC also said an aerial survey was conducted on possible faultline areas in Buenavista, Getafe, Calape, Tubigon and Catigbian.

The October 15 earthquake left 222 dead and 796 injured. Eight people have been missing since the quake.

Damage to infrastructure has been estimated at P2.204 billion, even as the cost of assistance reached P59.836 million. — JDS, GMA News
