Though focus is presently on Leyte, other provinces in the Visayas were also heavily hit by Super Typhoon Yolanda, which made landfall several times across the region. In Medellin town in Cebu, the municipal council held a special session at 10 a.m., Sunday to declare a state of calamity. The Cebu provincial government also said strong winds from Yolanda tore off roofs in Medellin. Meanwhile, some areas in Capiz remained flooded as of 7 a.m., Sunday, including Panay, Pontevedra, Panitan towns, as well as a portion of Sigma town. In Aklan, school division superintendent Dr. Jessie Gomez announced that students "need not go to schools if their classrooms are damaged." Also, the PIA reported that automated teller machines in Aklan started operating Saturday, with "long lines of clients" were observed. Bohol With the partial restoration of electricity in Bohol, power rationing started in the province Sunday. Bohol, which also suffered from Yolanda, is still reeling from October's magnitude-7.2 earthquake. "Power rationing starts today in Bohol as temp power sourcing awaiting restoration of Leyte power source in two months' time," PIA Bohol said in a post on its Twitter account. Earlier, the PIA said electricity had been restored in some parts of Tagbilaran City, Bohol's capital. Meanwhile, the Tagbilaran City government started providing residents with free water. As of Sunday, eight fire trucks and private water tankers delivered water to the 15 villages of Tagbilaran City. — DVM, GMA News
