2 hurt in Nueva Ecija plane crash

Two people, one of them a foreigner, were hurt when a Cessna plane crashed in a residential area in Nueva Ecija province Thursday morning.

The pilot, Paul Tecson Pafultad, 30, sustained injuries on the head, while the co-pilot, Wen Hiet, 21, a Myanmar national, sustained minor scratches, according to Senior Superintendent Crizaldo Nieves, director of the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO).

The two were rushed to Dr. Rafael Clinic for treatment.

Citing initial reports, Nieves said the trainer aircraft crashed into a house in Brgy. Poblacion Norte in Rizal town at 7:20 a.m.

No resident of Brgy. Poblacion Norte was reportedly injured from the incident, but farmer Glenn Paraiso, owner of the house where the plane crashed, said the aircraft remained on the roof of his house as of Thursday afternoon.

Investigators were still determining the cause of the crash as of posting time. — Elizabeth Marcelo/KBK, GMA News
