3 reported killed in Ilocos Norte bus accident

(Updated 1:14 p.m.) At least three people were killed while 14 were injured after a bus crashed into a mango tree in Ilocos Norte province on Saturday.

Police cited initial findings indicating the accident occurred along the national highway at Barangay Saoit in Burgos town, radio dzBB reported.

Initial investigation showed the accident occurred before dawn Saturday, with the bus driver surrendering to authorities.

The driver claimed he ducked when he saw a stone hurled his way, but his act caused him to lose control of the bus.
