Starting June 1, minors will face a fine or imprisonment if they are caught roaming in public places in Cagayan de Oro City.

The curfew will start 10 p.m. and end at 5 a.m., according to a post on Cagayan de Oro-oriented website CDODev.com.

"Starting June 1, 2014, all minors in Cagayan de Oro City aged below 15 years old should not be seen roaming, wandering around food hubs, clubs, lounges, liquor stores, and the like, after 10 p.m. and before 5 a.m. the following day," CDODev.com said.

It said the city's peace and security council passed a resolution to enforce a 1994 ordinance imposing a curfew on minors.

Under the ordinance, violators will be fined between P500 and P1,500, or be jailed for a period of between one and four months. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
