3-hour fire razes 'numerous' houses to the ground in Zamboanga City – Mayor Climaco

Over 500 families were rendered homeless in a huge blaze that razed more than 200 houses in Zamboanga City Wednesday evening, GMA News' late evening newscast "Saksi" reported.

 

In a Facebook post, Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco said the fire raged for three hours and the affected families from Campo Islam are "temporarily housed at the John Spirig covered court."

 

Climaco also said a firefighter was injured "at the height of fire rescue operations." The "Saksi" report said the fireman suffered a broken arm.
