Zamboanga City hotel owner shot dead; 2 suspects arrested

A hotel owner was shot dead inside her own establishment Thursday morning, while the hotel's security guard was wounded while trying to fend off the attackers.

 

Police arrested two of the suspects in a follow-up operation, according to a report on GMA News' "Unang Balita" early Friday.

 

Various media reports identified slain victim as Hadja Salwa Kaman Julwadi.

 

The arrested suspects, meanwhile, were dentified as Ernesto Angeles Bello Jr. and Wilbert Villarial.

 

An initial investigation showed the gunmen entered the hotel at about 9 a.m. and shot the victim, wounding the guard when he tried to protect her. — Joel Locsin/RSJ, GMA News
