80-year-old Capiz woman accuses grandson of rape
An 80-year-old woman in Capiz province accused her 21-year-old grandson of raping her last Tuesday, an Iloilo-based news site reported Friday.
The woman claimed the rape occurred in her house in Pontevedra town in Capiz on Tuesday evening, The Daily Guardian quoted town police head Inspector William Limjuco as saying.
Initial medical tests by Dr. Rossinie Avelino of the Rural Health Office showed the complainant had lacerations and purported semen on her genitals.
Police are verifying the complainant's claims her grandson barged into her house past 11 p.m., hogtied her and then raped her.
But the grandson, who barangay tanods arrested Wednesday, denied the allegations.
Despite his denials, Pontevedra police filed a rape complaint against him before the Capiz Provincial Police Office Thursday afternoon.
On the other hand, The Daily Guardian report said records from the local barangay showed the suspect had been known to barge inside neighbors’ houses when he gets drunk. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
