Training aircraft figures in accident at La Union airport

A training aircraft flown by a student pilot figured in a minor accident at the San Fernando City Airport in La Union province Wednesday morning.

The aircraft, which belonged to a flying school, did not make a proper landing and ended at a grassy area near the runway, GMA Ilocos reported.

Citing initial information, the report said it was the first time for the student pilot to fly the plane solo.

The student pilot was safe and the airport's operations resumed, the report added.
