Bulacan State University community to wear black for 7 flash flood victims
Black is to be the color of the day for the community of Bulacan State University on Friday, to mourn the death of seven tourism students in a flash flood at the Madlum River in San Miguel town in Bulacan last Tuesday.
The university's student government asked students and employees to wear black to sympathize with the death of the seven, GMA News' Athena Imperial reported on "Unang Balita."
Seven tourism students drowned in a flash flood that hit the Madlum River Tuesday. They were taking part in a field trip at the time.
University president Dr. Mariano de Jesus visited the wakes of six of the seven students, except for Maiko Bartolome, whose remains were retrieved Thursday.
At 5 p.m., a Mass and candle-lighting are to be held for families of the seven students.
Relatives of the fatalities are planning to pursue legal action against the school for the incident. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
