Teen rescued from prostitution in Bicol

A 17-year-old girl was rescued while two persons were arrested in a sting operation at a hotel in Naga City in Camarines Sur early this week.

The girl who was rescued on Monday said the owner of the bar had been acting as her "pimp," GMA Bicol's Avril Daja reported.

She said she first went to the bar because she was with some friends at the time.

But the bar owner, identified as Ferdinand Ng, claimed the girl did not indicate she is a minor. He said she claimed to be 20 years old.

"Sabi ko ayaw ko ng minor dito sa bar. Hindi naman talaga ako bugaw, meron akong legitimate business," he said.

The girl's family is determined to pursue charges against the pimp and customer.

"Ngayon lang po iyan naimpluwensyahan ng dalawa nyang barkada. Ang gusto ko pong mangyari, makulong po ang dalawang iyan," said the girl's aunt. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
