Bacolod man beats elderly ‘aswang’ neighbor to death

A 74-year-old resident of Bacolod City in Negros Occidental was brutally killed by his neighbor who claimed he was an "aswang."

 

Leodegario Mana-ay died from a broken skull and from injuries to various parts of the body inflicted by his neighbor Christopher Trocio, GMA Bacolod's Erwin Nicavera reported Thursday.
 

Initial police findings showed that Trocio beat up his elderly neighbor with bamboo sticks and rocks.

 

Trocio claimed Mana-ay was an "aswang" who was hounding him and some of his relatives.

 

However, police investigation showed Trocio was under the influence of alcohol when he killed Mana-ay.

 

The slain man's relatives said they will pursue murder charges against the suspect. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
