2 killed in Zambo Sur bus accident

(Updated 9:21 a.m.) At least two people were reported killed while 20 were injured in a bus accident in Zamboanga del Sur province Wednesday night.

The accident occurred in Tigbao town, GMA News stringer Peewee Bacunio reported.

In an updated report on dzBB radio Thursday morning, Bacunio said the driver was one of the two fatalities in the accident.

Citing initial findings, Bacunio told dzBB the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, causing the bus to go out of control and fall into a ravine.

Photos posted by Bacunio showed the windows of the "Rural Tours" bus shattered.
