Remains of 5 Army men slain in Sulu clash brought to Zamboanga City
The remains of five Army soldiers killed in an encounter with members of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) have been brought to Zamboanga City.
According to a "24 Oras" report aired Saturday evening, 24 soldiers injured in the firefight were also brought to Camp Navarro General Hospital at the headquarters of the Western Mindanao Command.

“All of them have shrapnel wounds... So, karamihan blast injuries,” Camp Navarro General Hospital OIC Maj. Ma. Victoria Mandin said.
Mandin noted that the injured soldiers are now in stable condition although two were transferred to a nearby private hospital to undergo surgery.
Army troops engaged at least 300 members of the ASG in Talipao, Sulu on Friday afternoon. The military said nine ASG members were killed in the fighting. — Andrei Medina/JDS, GMA News
