Mother, son robbed and brutally killed in Pampanga

A woman and her nine-year-old son were found robbed and brutally killed in their house in San Simon town in Pampanga province.

The woman's skull was broken while her teeth were knocked out, according to GMA News TV's "Balita Pilipinas Ngayon" Friday.

On the other hand, the boy's injuries indicated his head hit the cement floor, and he was also stabbed in the eye.

However, the boy's seven-month-old sibling was safe after being hidden away by the mother under the bed.

Police initially found no sign of forced entry, though relatives said the assailant may have entered through an open window.

The family patriarch was abroad but is to return home on Saturday.

Missing from the victims' house were an undetermined amount of money, jewelry and automated teller machine cards.

Aside from the victims, those in the house at the time of the attack included two minors.

Chief Inspector John Riego, head of the San Simon police, said they have taken into custody one of the suspects, after he was identified by a witness.

He initially identified the suspect as one Mark Pangan.

"Nang dinala sa istasyon, nakita ng witness (at) naluha ang bata at sabi siya ang pumatay," he said.

Police are looking into information the suspect is allegedly a drug user. — Joel Locsin/RSJ, GMA News
