4 dead, 12679 displaced by in Tropical Storm Queenie's wake – NDRRMC

At least four people were confirmed killed while 12,679 were displaced by Tropical Storm Queenie (Sinlaku), the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Saturday.
 
In its 6 a.m. update, the NDRRMC also said there were at least two injured and eight still missing in the wake of Queenie, which exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility Friday.
 
The NDRRMC identified the fatalities as: 
 
 
  • Cesar dela Cerna, 59, Cebu
  • Alona Baldado, 49, Cebu
  • Robinson Cebellos, 32, Bohol
  • Roque Sandoval, 62, transient fisherman from Mindanao
 
Sandoval was caught by strong and big waves while fishing along the seaboard of Jagna in Bohol. His remains were recovered Friday.
 
The NDRRMC also said 2,733 families or 12,679 people were affected and displaced in Queenie’s wake.
 
It said these included those from Mimaropa, Western and Central Visayas, Regions 10, 11 and Caraga.
 
Some 36 evacuation centers were opened to accommodate the displaced families.
 
Meanwhile, the following were rendered impassable due to floods:
 
 
  • Tapon Bridge in Dalaguete, Cebu
  • Saliring Bridge in Malabuyoc, Cebu
  • Tampocon Bridge in Ayungon, Negros Oriental
  • barangay roads in Pagatbat, Umagling and Sta. Ines in Malitbog, Bukidnon
 
Power was out since 2 a.m. Friday in five towns in Palawan, including Araceli, Sofronio Española, Linapacan, Dumaran, and El Nido.
