Despite having been battered by super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) last year, some residents in Tacloban City do not seem fazed by the threat from Typhoon Ruby (Hagupit).

That includes a young boy making lechon (roast pig) despite the rain, GMA News' Sandra Aguinaldo reported on "24 Oras Weekend."

While just 13 years old, the boy is already a veteran at cooking the delicacy, rotating the pig over the hot coals so it would be cooked evenly.

He said that while his family is already in an evacuation center, he stayed behind to continue cooking because there is always a chance someone would buy his product.

Meanwhile, many of those who stayed behind said they merely wanted to guard their households' belongings.

Earlier Saturday, the local Bureau of Fire Protection visited households to convince families to evacuate as Ruby draws closer.

Ruby threatens to make landfall over Eastern Visayas, one year after Yolanda devastated the area, leaving behind more than 6,300 dead.

The "24 Oras Weekend" report said 30,000 people or 7,582 families have been brought to 49 evacuation centers including the Kapuso Village. — Joel Locsin/VC, GMA News
